Youth Lacrosse Apparel: What to Buy First

Start with the program’s required equipment and uniform list, then decide whether extra apparel is useful. A branded tee or hoodie is optional clothing, not a substitute for protective equipment or a condition of belonging on the team.

One tee is a reasonable starting point

The Rookie Youth Lax Tee is listed at $22 with youth XS–XL options. Compare its current measurements with a shirt that fits the child. Age alone is not a dependable size guide, and youth size letters should not be treated as adult measurements.

Add a layer for the actual use

Think about travel, waiting between games and the trip home. A layer for the sideline does not automatically belong under protective equipment during play. Ask the program about permitted playing clothing and choose optional pieces around the conditions and the player’s preferences.

Measure before ordering

Use the item’s size chart and follow its measurement method. Decide how much room is needed without automatically sizing up. If a measurement or fit detail is unclear, resolve it before placing a made-to-order purchase. Check current delivery and return information as part of the decision.

Keep the first purchase manageable

Let the player choose a design they like, label the new item and use its care instructions. Add more only when there is a real use for it. Prices and options were checked October 8, 2026 and may change.
