A season checklist works best when it uses the team’s real requirements. Keep it in one place and update it as dates or instructions change.

Registration and schedule

Confirm eligibility, registration status, any required membership and the practice/game calendar. Save the weather-update route, location details and arrival/pickup expectations.

Equipment and clothing

Obtain the program’s current checklist for the player’s format and role. Arrange fitting help, inspect equipment using manufacturer guidance and ask about loaners when useful. Label the bag, stick and bottle. Optional apparel is separate from required protection.

Family planning

Discuss transportation, meals and existing activities. Confirm how to raise a coaching or health concern with the appropriate contact. Provide necessary participation information through the program’s authorized process rather than placing private details in a public checklist.

Player questions

Ask what the player is looking forward to and what seems unclear. Choose one manageable goal for the first week instead of trying to solve the whole season in advance.

Use the parent’s first-season guide, beginner equipment checklist and coach-parent communication guide for the detailed conversations. Marking the basics ready gives the family a clearer start without requiring a new wardrobe or extra daily training.
